Chadderton Secretary Louise Robson is recovering from the after effects of being involved in a 25-vehicle car crash that closed the A627M at Chadderton in last Friday's morning rush-hour.
Black ice caused a chain of collisions just before 8am, which happened on the motorway sliproad, where Broadway joins the A627M and heads towards the M62.
Louise said: "I was at the front of the pile up and the fact that only seven people were hurt is a miracle. It was very scary though, and the whole of the back end of my car has been pushed into the back seat, so I'm very grateful Ellie (Louise's young daughter) wasn't in the car with me.
"I've got some aches and pains, but I'm counting my blessings that it wasn't any worse and I'll be OK after some rest and a lot of painkillers".
