Newcastle Town are pleased to report positive progress on the fitness of two squad members.
Striker Neville Thompson (left) is on the brink of a Newcastle comeback. Thompson has been out since October with a hip injury, but took part in two full training sessions last week and came through with flying colours.
"He has already got 10 goals this season and holds the ball up better than any of our strikers and has a great touch. I cannot say that we have missed him because we have carried on winning but the squad will be better for his return." beamed Manager Greg Clowes before he jetted out to Tenerife for a short break.
There is also further news on another striker, Richard Minor (left), who has been out of action for twelve months. He had a second operation last week and the club is hoping this will cure the problem.
Despite the fact that it is going to be a long rehabilitation period, everyone at the club is optimistic that Richard will be back playing a part next season.
