Ashton Town players and staff gave up their time on Sunday to offer a bit of community spirit to a local school.
A team of volunteers from Edge Green Street took their shovels to nearby St Wilfred's Catholic Primary School on Golborne Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield, and joined many volunteers from the school itself and local residents to clear all access routes to school buildings, in order that they could re-open on Monday.
Town first team manager John Carroll said: "It's great for us as a club to get out and about and be seen in the local community, and we were more than happy to help out."
