Following the news of Nelson's resignation from the League, the League's Emergency Committee has met to discuss the constitution of the League for season 2010-11.
The Committee has decided that under National League System Regulation 4.4 printed on page 61 of the League handbook, Ashton Athletic will retain their place in the Premier Division, to maintain the full complement of 22 clubs in the division.
This decision is subject to ratification by the League Management Committee, whose next meeting is on Wednesday 21st July 2010.
