On Friday 16th July, AFC Liverpool will be hosting a Sportsman's Dinner with Joey Jones as the guest speaker.
Joey was immortalised in Liverpool history when a banner that read "Joey Ate The Frogs Legs, Made The Swiss Roll, Now He's Munching Gladbach" was unfurled at the 1977 European Cup Final in Rome. Fondly remembered by all Liverpool fans as an uncompromising, tough tackling left back, he finished 63rd in the list of 100 Players Who Shook The Kop.
Appearing alongside the Liverpool legend will be comedian Rod Beech, who is well loved on the after dinner circuit and has himself worked alongside many former Liverpool greats. There will also be a raffle and an auction with AFC Liverpool's Fans Liaison Officer 'Patto' as Master of Ceremonies.
Taking place at Frames Snooker Hall, 257 Cherry Lane in Walton, tickets are priced £17.50 which includes a buffet, and they come in two distinct, specially commissioned designs which will make great souvenirs.
