All ticket at the Rovers

The Co-operative Insurance clash between Albion Rovers and neighbours Airdrie United on Saturday, July 31 at Cliftonhill has been made an all ticket affair. A crowd limit of 1,000 has been set with 400 tickets reserved for home fans and 600 for fans of the Diamonds.

Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £7 for concessions with Rovers chairman Frank Meade saying, “This was decided after discussions with the police and we reckon that all of our fans will be taken care of as will the vast majority of Airdrie's following."

Sheerin gets to work at Arbroath

Recently installed Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin is getting down to business and he has added defender Alan Rattray to the list of players signing on again at Gayfield next season.

Goalkeeper Darren Hill, along with outfield men Kevin McMullen, Keith Gibson, Marc McCulloch, Robbie Ross and Bryan Scott have already committed themselves to life in the Third Division with the Red Lichties next season.

Shire squad set to take shape

East Stirling are beginning to rebuild with five members of last season’s squad that made the Play-Offs Scott Johnston, Stephen McGuire, Dean Richardson, Craig Tully and Derek Ure have verbally advised head coach Jim McInally that they will sign on again.

Striker Simon Lynch has moved to Stenhousemuir and defender Michael Bolochoweckyj is a target for newly promoted Forfar.

McInally said, “We have five to start with and maybe a couple of others as well and that gives us something to build on. I am confident we will build a decent squad but I know there are some players considering deals from other clubs that we cannot match.”

Bowden joins Turriff

Peterhead’s 20 year old defender Cameron Bowden has left Balmoor to sign for Highland League side Turriff United, where he spent part of last season on loan. Bowden made two substitute appearances for the Blue Toon last season and the clubs will now need to agree a fee for compensation for Bowden’s development.

Moore adds to squad at Cappielow

Allan Moore has continued his quickfire start as Morton manager and he has now agreed terms with Dunfermline’s Graeme Holmes to join on at Cappielow.

The midfielder, whose father Jim played in blue and white colours in the seventies and eighties, is Moore’s fourth new signing with Airdrie defender Marc Smyth, winger David O’Brien from Moore’s former Stirling Albion side and Ballymena striker Kevin Kelbie all already captured.

Moore has also agreed new deals for last season’s squad members, goalkeeper Colin Stewart and left sided player Kevin McKinlay.

Forfar admission price help despite promotion

Forfar Athletic will hold admission prices next season for individual games at £10 for adults and £5 concessions, despite Dick Campbell’s side making the step up to the Second Division.

A spokesperson at Station Park said, “We believe that the majority of Second Division clubs will be charging £12 for adults and £6, however in the current economic climate, we felt that any increase could be delayed for another 12 months. Season tickets will increase slightly for the first time in four years, however that is to cover the cost of the seven home friendly matches that are included.”

Stand Season Tickets will cost £160 for adults and £80 for senior citizens with Ground Season Tickets costing £150 and £75.

Tickets for under-17 year olds will cost £55 with under-12 tickets costing £25.
