New Winsford United manager Chris Willcock has made his first major coup of his second tenure at the Barton Stadium, with the signing of striker Stuart Wellstead.
Stuart, who has played under Chris in a previous spell at Winsford and also at Mossley, said: "As soon as I saw Chris had got the manager's job then Winsford was where I wanted to play. I regard him as the best coach I have played under and I am looking forward to the coming season".
Chris said: "We are expecting great things of Stuart so we have put him on a contract to ensure he is settled and able to produce his best without distractions".
It's likely that this will be the first of a number of new signings for the Blues, as Secretary Bob Astles explained: "Other major signings are in the pipeline, although most of the players who figured last season will be given the chance to earn a shirt. There may also be one or two players returning who figured in Chris's Promotion winning team of three seasons ago".
