Maine Road FC's annual awards evening took place last Saturday night at The Griffin in Heaton Mersey, Stockport.
Road's Dave Miller has sent us the following summary of the evening's events.
The 2009/10 'Player of the Season' award went to Steve Mason, a decision that was met with unanimous approval, although fellow centre-back Richard Gresty must have pushed him closely.
The 'Young Player of the Year' award went to Goalkeeper and ever-present Andrew Jones. The 'Reserve Team Player of the Year' went to Danny Clare. We are very grateful to Nigel Favers of our main sponsors Reeds Rains and to fellow club benefactor Fred Pratt for presenting the awards.
Thanks to everyone who came down to make it such an enjoyable night, but particular thanks to physio Jeff (Thunderclap) Newman and Son for providing some excellent music and to Niall of The Griffin for hosting us so well.
